HOLNAP is an experimental display typeface that reflects on one of Lajos Kassák’s main principles with its modern characteristics. The typeface was inspired by an article titled UJ KULTÚRA: KOZMIKUS KULTÚRA written by Andor Rosinger in Lajos Kassák's MA magazine in 1919. The article talks about the importance of unity in art and in every aspect of life. This subject is often discussed in Kassák's MA magazine. I created this font as a response to this belief. Today the subject of unity doesn’t appear in the way we think about design and the visual world, as Kassák speaks about in his writings. We combine the visual elements of many decades and cultures. In the process of designing, I created three guidelines to follow: the regularity of geometric forms, the dynamics of hand gestures and to have a big contrast between the forms of the letters.
