Voyager

The Voyager Spacecrafts carry the so-called Golden records consisting of mixed information, aiming to represent life on Earth. These are mostly pictures and sounds of human interactions, diagrams, mathematical and physical definitions and other scientific topics. If other life forms found these records, how could they understand them? It would be rather illogical to expect extraterrestrial entities to understand the complexity of human life only through these piles of data. These posters try to capture the process of decoding the data on the records with an alien mind. They display false assumptions on purpose through associations, to question the very idea of the record—and in general, this kind of representation of the life on Earth—with visual interpretation. This false logic is presented through numbers from different database diagrams, combined with pictures that are damaged until a point when they reach a certain scientific atmosphere that shows the absurdity of the situation. The technique itself is based on experimenting with the layers of the digital drawings and treating every one of them with a varying degree of the same effect.
